Update on the alms to the elderly waste pickers

Dear all generous donors

I would like to share an update on our support for elderly waste pickers, also known as Pemulung in Indonesia. A total of $38 has been raised, to which I have added an additional $22, bringing the total funds to $60. With this amount, we were able to assist three elderly waste pickers.

A care package was made this afternoon, consisting of 1 kilogram of rice, 1 bottle of mineral water, 2 boiled eggs, 2 packs of cookies, 2 oranges, 2 candies, and IDR 300,000 (approximately $20) in cash.

Currently, there are no charity organisations in Medan that specifically support elderly waste pickers. Unfortunately, due to limited funds, many are still in need of assistance.

We hope to extend our support to more elderly waste pickers in Medan through Bitkind and its generous donors, helping them live a dignified life in their old age
